Charleston Travel Recommendations:
Favorite things to do in the city?
“Charleston is a vibrant city full of history, food, art, and natural beauty. There are too many places to list, but a first-time visitor might like to take in the Old Provost Exchange, a museum from the Revolutionary War era, the newly opened Black History Museum, and the lively City Market, a blocks-long open market of local artisans, including traditional sweetgrass basket weavers.” ~Cynthia
“Besides exploring the local beaches like Isle of Palms, or Folly Beach, Dolphin watching is one my favorite things to do in Charleston. They are so graceful, and you can sometimes see them playing in the wake of ships and boats at Folly Beach. The Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve is a lovely spot on Folly Beach where you might spot dolphins. Bottlenose dolphins also frequent Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant which neighbors the Isle of Palms. You can explore the waterway on both a kayak and a paddleboard. It allows you to immerse yourself in the beautiful landscape while dolphin spotting. Of course, you could take a sunset dolphin tour.” ~Cynthia
Favorite way to unwind in the city?
“I love visiting Folly Beach or Sullivan’s Island beach for a sunrise or sunset beach walk, or to lay out and read a book. When it’s nice out, I love relaxing and catching up with friends at the pool at the Wonderer. I also love taking a yin yoga class at one of the many great studios around town, such as HYLO, Salt Spa, Holy Cow, and more.” ~Reagan
Favorite restaurants?
“When I am taking friends out or would like a little date night Muse and Husk Bar are a perfect intimate place to share with friends although when I am on Folly Beach two of my favorite go to places for a really great meal are Jack of Cups and Chico Feo”.~Jennifer

Pleasant, I like to have lunch at Tavern and Table, a waterfront restaurant on Shem Creek, because sometimes at high tide you can watch dolphins while eating lunch.” ~Cynthia
